Estancia La Matuza is located in the province of Santa Fe, about 5oo kilometers North of Buenos Aires. La Matuza is a 3500-acre farm embracing a range of livestock, including a herd of 400 dairy cows, beef cattle and a polo stud. In addition to this 1200 acres are dedicated to agricultural farming. During the summer (November thru March) most of the activities involving the horses are in full swing. These include rounding up the yearlings and getting them ready to be broken in. Jobs such as: halter training, castrations, vaccinations and teeth rasping will all need to be done. These yearlings will then be broken in by the Gauchos. The three-year-old ponies will also begin their extensive schooling programme and start playing their first chukkas. Guests may take part in all of these activities, along with a full plan of riding and polo lessons. They will be welcome to watch the breaking in of yearlings and assist where possible. At the end of the day, after polo, you can relax with a cold beer and a tasty asado. At the farm we produce most of our food. Meals includes beef steaks, lamb and pork, and organically grown vegetables. Then it’s time to chill out and relax…and of course all well accompanied by fine Argentinean wines!

We offer tailor made polo holidays that include staying at the farm and taking part on the estancia routine and also during the argentine high goal polo season we offer polo vacations in Buenos Aires where players combine polo games with city shopping and watching polo matches at the Palermo ground in the centre of Buenos Aires. The high goal polo season starts in late September and ends by mid December when the final of the Argentine Open is played at Palermo grounds. Once the high goal season is over, polo is played at the farm where some 30 young polo ponies are always welcoming you! For lovers of horse racing, we combine visits to both Palermo and San Isidro racecourses, where many Group races take place during the spring in Argentina.

Activities for non-polo playing guests include river, walks and picnics, golf, tennis and swimming. In addition we can arrange fishing and shooting trips to estancias located nearby, alongside the Parana River, one of the longest rivers in South America.
